Veterinary Services

In addition to our boarding and grooming services, Tamroc is happy to host veterinary care on-site with Dr. Mary Matthes-Guilbeau and Dr. Jade Elizabeth Guilbeau.

Dr. Mary earned her B.S. in Biochemistry and her D.V.M. from Mississippi State University. After graduating, she returned to Myrtle Beach to establish a mixed animal practice, with the help of her aunt and uncle, Lib and Jim Click. She has practiced at this location for over 28 years.

Dr. Mary is treasurer of the Waccamaw Association of Veterinarians, and she has continued to volunteer her time interviewing perspective South Carolina students interested in attending vet school at Mississippi State. She volunteered many years with the American Heart Association Charity Beach Ride.

Dr. Mary lives with her husband Rogers and their children, Jade and Cobi, in the Socastee community on a small farm with a menagerie of horses, dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and the occasional squirrel or rabbit rescue. Presently Dr. Mary has one dog (Kylie), five cats (Velcro, Sunshine, Pammie Sue, Nonee, and Lenny), a horse named Major, and Squirrel Girl (a paraplegic squirrel she rescued on the farm). When not tending to her patients, Dr. Mary enjoys photography, painting, gardening, woodworking, and most recently mushroom hunting.

“I feel truly blessed to be able to do what I love every day and thank my clients for trusting me, with the care of their babies.”

Dr. Mary’s daughter, Jade Elizabeth Guilbeau, joined the practice in 2015 after earning her D.V.M. at Mississippi State University, and her son, Cobi, is in the process of applying to vet school. Animal lovers, all!
